Thank you all for making this successful!

I'd say pay any way you are comfortable.  Pay pal's fee is minimal, I believe, but a check is less fee, I suppose.  If you prefer pay pal, I can't imagine James would object.

Ira, you may be thinking of using pay pal on eBay.  Jeff was referring to a general money transfer using pay pal.  We used pay pal in this general manner to pay for the iron sheets from England.

I expect the total additional cost to make the lubricator usable to be around $300- $400.  We need to service it, replace all glass and gaskets, run copper lines, make some fittings, etc.

Jeff, yes Paypal will take a cut.  Typically on $100 I believe they take 2.5% - more for smaller amounts, and less for larger.

So who gets to de-gunk, clean, and polish the little gem?  If no takers, I will volunteer during FWW.  I still have leftover cans of Brasso, toothbrushes, and polishing cloths from my military days.

John...I've found that Brasso eliminates watch crystal scratches, abrasions, faster on plastic than glass.  Takes some rubbing, though.
I've heard some people use toothpaste on oxidized headlight bubbles, also has very fine polish in it.

Paul, and how much rubbing do you think I did over 22 years!  You learn every trick in the book and then some.  I can still remember Brasso and toothbrushes to polish the brass floor drains in the barracks latrines during boot camp.  Talk about starting at the bottom!   Grin
