52 running in Portland July 4th

Maine Narrow Gauge # 1 the big GE from Edaville is out of service for traction motor and wheel work. MNGRR asked for some locomotive help with the Fourth of July trains and the WW&F agreed to send # 52 down for July 4th to help out MNGRR's Plymouth # 11. 52 is scheduled to run tomorrow starting at 3:30 pm with one of two trains hauling firework spectators from the Ocean Gateway to Cutter St. I believe we stop running trains to Cutter St. at 6:30 pm and then start back up at 10:15 pm bringing people back to Ocean Gateway from Cutter St.
52 loaded on the trailer in Sheepscot this evening.

Trailer should be lettered WW&F. In fact, all railroad-related vehicles should be ID'd so.
Free advertising. Why not?

And numbered -
I was going to say use a prefix or suffix:
R= rubber
or
H= highway
But some are neither.
Just letters?
TT = Train Trailer
KC = Casey
IC = Ichabod Crane
BH = Back Hoe
JD = obvious

Thanks for the pictures & captions, Brendan. And for the transport effort too, of course! Nice to see the cooperation between the museums.

I think it is great that the WW&F thru the efforts of Brendan and others can help out a brother railroad. The cooperation that is going on between the various Maine 2 footers is to be commended.
Well Done Brendan and others.

The intermuseum cooperation on this level is almost unheard of in the rail preservation community.
Be proud of what has been accomplished.

Perhaps a brief article to NRHS with a picture of 3 and 52 on foreign rails. There may be some of the other historical organizations or publications that would be interested. The 2 footers have been exchanging cars, parts, locomotives, etc for a while now and it would make for good reading.

This is the first time a WW&F locomotive has operated on waterfront trackage in 84 years.

52 had a good visit to Portland and returned to Sheepscot early this AM. We had three WW&FRy members in Portland helping out on the 4th. I volunteered as 52's engineer, John McNamara volunteered as an assistant conductor on 52's train and Dean Copeland came by in the morning to help unload 52 from the trailer.
Backed off the trailer onto MNGRR's ramp track.

Running light by the shop/yard at the museum.
Timetable and rulebook.
52's train parked in the passing siding by Ocean Gateway before the July 4th trains started up for the evening.

I see in that last picture that 52 dropped a nice load of ashes after the fires were dropped....
