Also this week -

* Boxcar #67 - The inside of the second door was prime coated and the east side number painted with white gloss.

* Coach #8 - Randy made a keeper block for the door frame. It, along with the latch that Eric made was installed yesterday.  Iron parts were painted.  The wood parts will be varnished today so the car will be ready for tomorrow's charter.

Tues. and Wed. 3 and 1/2 flatcar loads of crushed rock were put on the main line and siding this week. Dressing from Albee's field North.

And don't forget, about 20 ties needed at the north end to get the pipes in.

We're keeping them for you. We're probably can't add more track until we get more ties. That siding would be a good place to store ties after we cut them. It would get them out of the car parking lot.

A question to throw out for someone(?) to answer.  How have we been getting ties these last several years?  Is there more in the pipeline?  If there is a trade secret then please do move this item to the members section.

They are former guard rail posts that were replaced to meet current highway standards.

Work done on Saturday June 10:

* Stone delivery: a crew of Fred, Bryce, Bob, Erica, Megan, Jay and myself delivered stone to the mainline a bit south of MP 7.  We were joined later by Bill, Dave, and Dan.
* Boxcar 67: Zack worked on trim boards, some on the doors.  Jay worked on the guts (springs etc) of the trucks.  Trucks are nearly ready to be put under the car.
* Turntable treatment: Bob C worked on treatment.
* 3-phase generator: The other Bob did some work on the generator, I think to make it easier to start.
* Passenger train: The handicap access on Coach 8 got its first such use today, with Jane R getting wheeled into it.  Crew outnumbered passengers today.
* Board meeting was at 4 today.

* Grass/brush was cut around Trask's Crossing to maintain visibility.  Bryce and Dan did a nice job.

Fred wanted to inspect the ballasting work Saturday, so several of us took the railcar out.  It's been several days and as many car loads, but the area from Albee's Crossing to Rosewood Crossing is finally looking nice, between this ballast dressing and the tamping st work weekend.  Some ties need changing, some lining, and some kink unbending- and that'll be a great stretch.

Anticipated work for weekend of June 17:

* Stone delivery: there's still lots of places that need stone delivered.
* Materials delivery: Mike needs ties and rail delivered for the culvert replacement project at end of track.
* Boxcar 67.  If the trucks go in, it can roll out.
* Bay 2 cleanup: only if 67 can roll out.
* Turntable treatment.
* Steam train this weekend.

Although not part of this weekend, on Monday evening at 7 for the Damariscotta Historical Society I will be presenting about the Museum.  The presentation is based on the one I gave at the Convention.

Thanks, Ed, that's a great map.  Unfortunately it doesn't show the different crossings mentioned in the above posts.  Is there a way those can be added, along with the new trackage?  If I knew how the map was done, I would volunteer to help update it.
