Don't underestimate the Appalachian Trail hikers straying from the trail.  It was on a 'zero day' my brother and I took while hiking the AT in Maine that we decided to find and ride the Maine 2 footers.  The rest, as they say, is history and I have been coming back every year since then.  That was well over a decade ago.

Work done on Saturday March 25 (today with pictures!):

* Boxcar 67: Zack finished the long belt rails and got one of the short end belt rails up.
* Storage container: Some pieces were brought in during the week.  Today, Fred brought in a bunch of lumber from home for shelves, and Steve Z helped build some shelves at the far end of the container:

* Shop Bay 2 cleaning: Some things from the shop were moved to the container during the week, and today as well.  The bench that's been on the east wall of Bay 2 by the door between the two bays for as long as I've been around was cleaned off, taken off the wall, trimmed a little, and moved to between Bays 2 and 3.  It was a tight fit, and now it's lag bolted in.  Where it used to be:

* Archives: Linda worked to identify and organize modern photos.
* Timetable: Jason and I discussed the new timetable.

The bench is slightly higher than it was. This is in anticipation of the cement floor. If then it is still too high, we can lower it easier than we moved it.

Still lots of space above the things along the walls. More shelving needed.

There are going to be more shelving put in. Many of the things were putting in right now are from bay 2 and 3 to get them cleaned out for pouring cement in those 2 bays. The shelves are 18" deep on both sides and I think were only putting them about half way for now. We hope to have the floors done before we start building a coach. A few things were taking from the 3 car garage so we can walk in there.

You may want to consider some 2 or 3-foot wide shelves along one side, built very sturdy, so that heavier things can be stored on them as well as under them. I'm thinking things like the chain falls under the steps, spare Brookville engine and transmission, No. 10 parts, etc. Maybe a large shelf above the lathe?

Per experience with the 2926 project, they have, IIRC, seven containers, well used for secure storage, with one used as a machine shop.
You can get LOTS of stuff in them with deep, sturdy shelving.
