Train Show Help Needed
« on: October 11, 2016, 11:09:28 AM »
At Friday's board meeting John Robertson asked for help in upcoming train shows, especially the Amherst show in Springfield, MA.  John's been coordinating our presence at the shows for many years.

Currently we go to the following shows:
 * Annual Fall Model Railroad Show - Topsham, ME (November 5)
 * Amherst Railway Show - West Springfield, MA (late January)
 * Whitefield Lions Club Train & Dollhouse Show - Augusta, ME (mid-February)
 * A show in New Gloucester, ME (March)

At these shows we sell our merchandise and have flyers and newsletters available.  John's looking for someone who can reliably assist or possibly be the point person for the show, if he can't attend for some reason.

Anyone interested, please post here and we'll get the word back to John.

I expect to be present helping out at the Amherst Railway Show to help out as I have been for the past 2 years. Advise what might be expected of me if John couldn't make it and perhaps I could be the person you are inquiring about. After all, my home base is just 20 minutes away.

I'm interested in helping out in some capacity.  Perhaps the dates in 2017.  Open to learn more!

The Amherst show is especially where additional help is needed.  Zack and Bob C no longer go, so there's two people lost.

I'll try to get the dates figured out for the 2017 shows.  Amherst is easy (I think last weekend of January), the others I'll have to look at our records for when they are.

Even this former Easterner, now living out in the New Mexico "desert", has heard of the Amherst biggie. Friends of  C&TS, NMSL&RHS 2926 members show up.

Reviving this old thread.

John Robertson is no longer able to administer the train shows, therefore we need people to step up and help do that.  The next one coming up is the Great Falls Model RR Club show in Topsham, ME on November 4.  If you can be the one to run our table at the show, please contact us.  Otherwise we will not be attending.

Let me see how things line up with work. If I can keep my second personal day, I will be happy to help. I know the Topsham show is very good for us. Has anyone reached out to Bob C?

As always I will be helping staff the tables at the Topsham, West Springfield and Augusta shows as usual.

Bob C is not interested in managing shows, but can assist in certain cases.  Anyone interested in the management of them?  Filling out the paperwork, arranging for others to help, figuring out what to take and taking it.

I might be available to throw my hat in the ring for the Great Falls show. Let me check with Annie- it's a way out for us to plan. I wouldn't want to manage all of the shows, but I'd be willing to do one.

I'm willing to throw my name in as someone to help cover (but not manage) shows.  It's tricky because I split time between Maine and Philly, but keep me on whatever list you have as someone who could help out from time to time to staff a show...

As I have the past couple of years, I will be available to assist at the West Springfield show.

I can commit to the show on November 4th. We will need at least a handful of us to man the table.
