WOW thank you to all 21 campaign supporters!  What a milestone!

We plan to provide the shop with heat in the upcoming weeks, and then plan to resume work on 10’s boiler.  When it makes sense to group work with 11’s boiler we will.  We’ve had to take quite a hiatus but we’ve a solid plan and look forward to knocking these projects out!

THANK YOU ALL!
Jason

I can almost see the smile on Jasons face as he typed that.

It is very exciting. This has been a long (rail) road to get to this point. A lot of our recurring monthly donors inched the total along every month. Things were looking slow. But as has shown in everything we as a museum does, nothing is unachievable.

Isn't the problem a lack of pressure?  ???

Steve,
I am noticing a dramatic increase in events at our Museum, many of which are only loosely based on our railway. I might be wrong (could that be possible?), but I suspect that you are the, or one of the, driving forces behind this increase in activity. If so, a tip of the bowler hat to you for your creativity and efforts.

Hi Bill,

You are correct, there are many new events and I have been the driving force of some of them. The Mother's Day Tea, for example was me.

The 21 Campaign Open Shop Day was Joe Fox.

Evening Trains have been a collaboration between many of us.

Concert series was the ideas of many of us.

These are just a few, but represent the efforts of many to enhance the Museum's offerings.

Pay as you wish weekend was Fred Morse. (More on this one coming soon!)

So, I basically keep my ear of the rail and listen for ideas, take them, refine them a bit and brand them. Once in a great while, I'll have an ideas idea of my own that I see through to fruition.

The key element of nearly all events is employing the railroad as transportation- either to an event, or as an element of the event.

I cannot yet say for sure, but ridership so far has been strong this year, and we are headed into te two biggest event weekends of the month. I think we are on target for our most well attended May ever.

The story behind the 21 Campaign day is that many of our members and or donors have been asking questions on why the slow progress. And you can put things into words, but until you actually see ALL that has happened it is just words.

...I think we are on target for our most well attended May ever.

The most well attended May to date was 2002, we had 238 ticketed riders.  We were open Friday - Monday of Memorial Weekend, which accounted for the bulk of the month.

Suggestion...WW&F has many exciting expansion projects, and new programs underway, with thousands of US and worldwide supporters and observers eagerly wanting the latest information.
Could someone  with some reporting experience be designated to primarily investigate and report timely details of latest improvements and important Railroad goings-on, presenting this info ASAP?
I realize  adding special responsibilities to a volunteer WW&F worker would be difficult. But there is coming Alna Center entertainment and daily train ops,  so much recent rail extension activity, building work, track expansion, loco/car rebuilds, co-op agreements, that  the "knowledge pot" is boiling over.
HELP!

Good luck.
