James--

rotating the Riveter took some effort but wasn't terrible when rotating it to the next rivet...Plans are afoot to help that

Tonight's post on the Facebook 21 Campaign page features some neat historical information from turn of the century trade journals on the Allen Riveter and an unexpected surprise we discovered while researching. Check it out at: www.facebook.com/wwandf21campaign.

FYI, to whom it may concern,

I was nosing around looking for grant writing fodder and noticed that the Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/wwandf21campaign/posts/373996099437663

contains a link:

https://www.facebook.com/wwandf21campign

which no longer works.  It would take someone far more knowledgeable than me to fix it.

Bill, "campaign" is missing an "a" in the link you provided.

Phil, Thanks, however, I copied the links from the web site.  The link in the facebook website needs to be corrected.

The WW&F 21 Campaign now stands at $9,600- just $400 short of $10,000. With $10,000 in hand our flanging machine construction will be fully funded and all of our engineering design approvals will be paid for. If you've been reading this forum for a while, but have yet to become a member of the museum, or if you'd simply like to help this project along your support would be most appreciated.

We've already rebuilt our two riveting machines, designed our flanging machine, and designed boilers for locomotives #10 and #11.

You can donate online at: www.fundrazr.com/21campaign
or
learn more about the campaign at: www.facebook.com/wwandf21campaign

Thanks for your support in getting #10 back into steam soon and building #11,
Stephen Piwowarski

UPDATE!!!

Lat week the WW&F 21 Campaign set an audacious goal of raising $10,000 within the first month of fundraising. Today it is our distinct pleasure to share that we have not only met, but exceeded that goal by nearly $1,000! Thank you for your encouragement and support- it sustains and motivates all of us to endeavor towards the completions of Nos. 10 and 11. Read the full story at www.facebook.com/wwandf21campaign.

Now that we have raised the money needed for building our flanging machine and engineering approvals, we must turn our attention to the next tasks at hand. By raising just over $2,000 more we will have reached $13,000 or 10% of the 21 Campaign total! By raising just over $4,000 more we will have reached $15,000 which is the amount we will be requesting when we apply for grants. Your support is essential in showing that we can match the giving of granting foundations.

Thank you so much for all of your support in helping to close the fundraising gap and build enthusiasm at Sheepscot,

Seeing the No. plates for 10 & 11 I was wondering if thought was given to
making cap pin replicas? Something in the 5/8 to 3/4 inch diameter?
Post back.

If you do that #9 also would not be amiss.

I would spring for one of each.

Maybe a survey or preorder would get the ball rolling to see if there was interest.

Carl,
Thanks for the suggestion. We didn't have anything like this in planning due to the difficulty associated with shipping, etc. However, with the narrow gauge convention coming up, they might prove to be a popular item.

I did not mean full size -
Just a cap pin - the same as the Locomotive #9 pin.
The one for $5.00

Full size are WAY too expensive even if made from expanding/cast foam.

I'll tell you the booklet is awesome. Granted I spent a year or two no as a member but I plan to bring the booklet to my local museum to read maybe we will get more interest?

Thanks Mike, please do share it! I've been trying to talk it up amongst people as well.

In the meantime, here is some recent news from the 21 Campaign:
-We now have almost 300 followers on Facebook
-we've raised over $15,000, which covers the cost of the required tooling and design approval.

From the beginning, we decided that the cornerstone of this project would be building boilers that incorporate historically-based design and construction techniques.
This week our Facebook post elaborates on some of those design and construction choices.
View the post at www.facebook.com/wwandf21campaign.

In the upcoming weeks we will be making more exciting announcements so stay posted and again, thank you for your support!

Take care,
Stephen Piwowarski
