Top of the Mountain Siding - Official Work Thread
« on: March 13, 2016, 05:44:15 AM »
This winter we have cleared from the edge of the old R.O.W. 75 feet westward and 300 feet parallel to the main line. If we add in the 33 feet cleared years ago, it gives us 108 feet westward from the center line of the mainline track. That should give Rick's survey team plenty of room to plot the curve of the siding so when we start cutting next winter, we can clear that area first. It will probably be done after the stumps are removed.

I would actually like it surveyed before I remove the stumps. Would make easier walking while laying out the curve, and not in the mud.

T.O.M stumping progress as of 6/4/16. Close to half the stumps from last winter's tree cutting have been pulled.

Brendan, It is good to see the progress made on clearing the field at T. O. M. of tree stumps. The repairs to Kubota and dozer are showing good results.  Thanks again for the informational pictures of work in progress.    Fred L. Kuhns

Very impressive work!
Hard to imagine all those roots under all those stumps.
Case-y and Kubota...the best recent investments WW&F made, run by A-teamers!

This is what one tank of gas in the saw will do, in about an hour and a half, with one determined guy.

Looking toward the Mainline

Looking toward the stump pile

Made it almost to the stump road

Ran out of gas

Still more to do. About 75-100 feet to remove stumps to the woods road.
