Excellent video Hansel. The mixed trains and passenger trains were the most interesting.

MNG did a nice job with passenger, freight and mixed consists.  That 10 car train is crazy!

Good video Hansel, thanks for posting.

p.s. Nice "Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad" style logo for Downeast Rails.

Thanks guys! I organized Friday and Sunday's trips, while Joey Kelly did Saturday's trips. The Monster Train was put together by our Operations Manager.

And my logo is inspired by an "Edaville-ized" Baldwin number plate.

SR&RL Railbus #4 ran back and forth on a short stretch of track for visitors this past weekend. It will now go to Boothbay temporarily for restoration and operation. MRR #3 will continue to run weekends through Memorial Day Weekend.

I'm curious, does the SR&RL railbus still have its original Reo engine, or was it re-motored at some point?

Thanks. I thought I'd remembered hearing something like that but wasn't sure.

As I recall the railbus was almost totally distroyed in and accident with an automobile at the Eda Ave crossing in the middle to late 60's and was not repaired for quite a while, l remember it being in the museum bad side to the wall and when it was finally repaired REO parts were hard to find.

Monson #3, after a brief delay and being used in service 4th of July weekend in Portland, is back on the rails in Phillips.

She'll be running in service on SRRL trains tomorrow and as many open days as MNG can help provide crews for going forward this season.

So if we ride behind it in Phillips, do we have to walk back, since you only have crews going forward?

Well.....at least it's not that long a walk back if you take the wood's shortcut........
