Gawdon, the price was right...we kind of have a joke that this way the fire department knows where to respond, "97 Cross Rd, Building 31"

I'm told these were doors previously used in a location that numbered its doors.

Yes John, yet another donation from Fast Freds slightly Used Lumber Emporium. He has everything you need, as long as you need what he has

Mod's note: A discussion of Marxes of all types has been moved to the Whimsical Weirdness and Foolery section.

Re Brendan's second picture posted March 20

I just was reading Jan/Feb 1985 Narrow Gauge And Short Line Gazette
On page 74 is a West elevation of "Yerington's Barn" Car Storage Building in Carson City NV
Circa 1903 On the Virginia & Truckee RR.

On page 75 is a shot (taken 1937) very similar to Brendan's (It has a 3 way stub switch)  The museum's looks to be an
almost direct copy.

The caption said it was painted Boxcar Red "and had unusual diagonal siding on the doors."
Editor Bob Brown must not have been to New England.

I will see if I can send the images (Scanning is the easy part).

Could this have been a standardized type of building?

If they'd like to make more drawings, we can send them photos of all four sides of our building. ;D

Interesting assembly for locking the doors, similar to the SR&RL.

Thanks again Mike

I just thought it interesting that the two buildings looked so similar 3/4
of a continent apart.

John M

Maybe they would be interested.
It would be a way to pass the word.
At the time Dick Andrews wrote a "Extra Narrow Gauge Junction"
column about 2 foot RRs

Editor Bob was unaware the similarities but then the article
was 30+ YA.
