Car barn as of 11/15/15.

The east side and back wall are finished. The carpentry crew is working their way down the west wall.

Now that the staging is down on the south end I can finish the ditch to get rid of that tide. Of course that will be after the dozer comes back south, hopefully before the ground freezes

What will Case-y's new home be like? An open shelter?

I figure that next will be the three doors and then finish the North End.  Will that happen before the New Year?

Great work.
Where exactly will the dozer shed go on the west wall?

I think the work will slow down now. The big push was to get the muddy side done. Next Sat. we'll put in purlins on the North end, then boards and battens. Also a door has to be made for the section house. Another thing that will slow us up is the Christmas trains, Christmas and New Year's. After that we can get going again.

Paul,

The dozer shed will be a lean-to built in the center of the west wall.  It will be about 1/3 the length of the car shed.

No big doors until after the track is at its final height.

It would be easy to add about 10' of stone to either side of the openings to bring up the track. Then doors could be installed without doing the whole project.

Zack's plan is to store for the winter a empty flat car, #118 or#126 in bay 2 of the shop. When the snow gets to deep and stops outdoor work, than the car barn's new doors will be built on top of the flat car. Bay 2 has the overhead cranes to move the large doors around as they are being built.
