I thought all interior trackwork would be leveled, surfaced, ballasted so that correct door heights could be set, doors built soon?
Also, parked cars now need to be pulled outside for finish-up work, at least one track at a time.
This Peanut Gallery fan would like to know.   ;)

Not to get too far off the topic, but what truck work is planned for 65?  Going to swap the trucks with 67?  ;)

Paul, my guess is the ballast, tamping will happen at the Spring Work Weekend, April 29-May 1, 2016.

Dave,

#65's trucks have gotten too compressed so the car sits lower than it should.  We need to pull the trucks, loosen or remove the arch bar bolts and re-line the truck frames.  When the frames are true, tighten the bolts and check everything.  Final test is putting the trucks back under the car and seeing how they handle the weight when the car sits and is tracking.

Jason can explain it better but that's the basic problem and repair.

Dwight...appreciate the reply, which, IIRC was the plan, along with immediate, high-priority car storage , and a full plate of projects for the winter:  9 steamup, Kubota fix, TOM-north ROW, switch/track work, 67 rebuild, section house finish, etc.

a crew will be busy for some time putting all the battens on the south end, than on the long East and West walls. Later there's the high North End above the doors that need the boards and battens.

Brendan, Great to see the south end finished along with the man door installed. Hope the snow will hold off so the carpenter crew can finish the north end gable before real winter arrives.  Fred L. Kuhns

Betcha the north gable end and big door frames trim are done very soon, with tarps enclosing the openings over the winter.

I keep seeing a puddle on the cb floor between 1 and 2 track.
Please say it's not a roof leak.  ???

There is ( was) a roof leak as I had placed a 5 gallon bucket under it to catch the water The leak was between track 1 and 2 and 1/3 of the way from the south wall..

On another note, the Koppel cars would be great for ballasting within the car barn. Just a suggestion. to save carrying buckets of ballast.
