Brendan, The battens look really great adding the finishing touch to the walls. What type of material is the drip cap between the upper and lower level of the wood. The metal staging adds the ability to work at different levels at one time, plus set up is made much easier and faster. Thanks again for the update.  Fred L. Kuhns

Toldya the battens would class up da joint.  ;D
Will match the potty and garage buildings.
Will the CB be the same, nice gray color?

The side walls, though lengthier, are totally the same height, should go pretty fast.
Just moving staging will take half the time.

Is  the north gable end over the doorways sheathed?
If not, bet it will be sooooon.  ;)

Looks better every photo shoot.

I believe it is tin or thin stainless steel.

Car barn is now 2/3 rds full.

Bay 2

Bay 1 and 2

It was pointed out today this is the first time 103 has ever had indoor storage in the cars life.

Four freight cars and the caboose out on the main. We get number 67 restored we will be up to five cars.

Different angle from Jason.

Thanks for posting the photos, Brendan. It does my heart good to see that equipment all under roof. Thanks to all who made up the switching crew. Well done!

What is the status of track 3?

That is really gratifying to see!  How much clearance did you guys have on the cupola of the 320 when it went thru the door?

Track 3 is only half spiked and the switch needs some work. The caboose has about two feet of clearance.

I was going to mention that the Feb. 1977 Model Railroader had a construction article
on SS&RL caboose #551. But I see they only look similar not alike. ;)

Fantastic! A very nice looking structure which should add years to the car maintenance cycle. I'm really looking forward to seeing it in person!

Since we might want to use 320 during Victorian Christmas, it should be closer to the door than 309 and 65. Doing this rearrangement now rather than later would avoid having to do the rearranging with snow on the ground.  :)

Car 65 gets truck work before 320 will be needed.  Cars were switched in order of maintenance schedules.

Stewart speaks the truth... We also wanted 320's end platforms further away from the open north end of the building.  We tried to think it out carefully.
