Actually the rivet wasn't all done in that last picture. Needed to be peened--I guess that's the proper term--to be flatter like the others already done. I believe that was accomplished shortly after my camera battery quit.

Car barn siding loaded up at the sawmill last Thursday along with 3 switch stands we were allowed to salvage from an old industrial property in Massachusetts.

 Brendan, again thanks for safe and just in time delivery of the car barn siding. The pictures are just great, and to see the siding up on the car barn in a matter of days shows the great effort of all our volunteers. Nice to see the effort in stacking the balance of the lumber, will help the drying progress and allow the material to remain stable. Fred L. Kuhns

Brendan...Thanks for the detailed photo story of the car shop track and siding work, which continued through substantial rain. Hope your camera didn't blow up. 
Also the section house--looks fantastic, can I move in? 
However, its roof looks unfinished. Thought it was.

Maybe the light passing through the skylights makes it look unfinished.

Will it have shingles or cedar shakes for the roof?

PS.  Save three 12-foot pieces of 33# rail so we can machine the switch points; I have three down here in Baltimore already.

Hey Dave,

It won't have shakes nor shingles. Original images of the building show a roof of rolled roofing which had the seams tarred. This is what the replica has. It has already been installed.

Bill is referring to the clear panes which were alternated between the opaque roofing panels.

I presume there will be shuffling around of equipment before winter comes. I understood that track one was for the passenger train.

Yes, the freight cars are on track 1 temporarily.

As soon as we get guard rails in we'll rearrange.  We know where we want everything- just want to able to use the north yard without having to inch through every switch.
