Those clear sections are sealed up nice and tight with proprietary goose grease in a tube. Apparently Fred M. has a source for this hard to find commodity.
I'm ready to do another 60' next Saturday!

Looks like you Roof Rats got it down. Very nice work.  :)
Is the plan to finish roofing, then put up siding, subgrade, lay ballast, hang doors and run track to and inside, ASAP?

Paul, the upcoming Annual Fund Drive request (mailing on or about August 31) will include funding for doors and siding for the car barn, as well as track material for the tracks inside and out.

It has occurred to me that it would be very nice to have finer crushed stone in the carbarn up to the top of the railhead so that we could have a large indoor space for events at times. This would give us a safe, comfortable walking surface and would be useful for many purposes.

Forms for the door post footings were stripped this week.

Grading is being done on the west side of the car barn. The grade has been cut down about 2 feet on average to keep the water from draining into the building. After the staging comes down the area under the staging will be cut down.

Was the formwork removed below grade as well?

The tapered part of the forms were left in place.

Anything in the works toward getting roll bars on the Kubota?

Impressive dirtwork, apparently done without grade staking or level and rod.
Looks great, Mike.

I had nothing to do with the piles this time. That is Brendans project. He and I have talked and the fill generated by this clearing will be used in the area of the soon to be built 3-way to make sure there is room enough.

Today, the intrepid carpentery crew set the east door posts. The job was a bit tougher due to the mud where the roof tin has not been finished.  The rest of the building is fairly dry after this mornings rain.  Zack hopes to install the 6X6" door headers and more roof tin tomorrow before we all get busy with the afternoon Mass Bay RRE charter.
