Brendan,I'm an old guy from the steam era. By what modern wizardry do you take these pictures? Are mini choppers available now to do such? Are you looking at a screen--maybe your Smartphone or iPhone screen--to see what view will be captured?

Have you ever in the past or do you plan in future to use it over a nudis........no, forget that last question please!

Couldn't keep that from bubbling up, but seriously, would appreciate a few words on how you do such great things!

Are you sure it wasn't the Goodrich blimp?
Ira, Goodrich doesn't have a blimp!

Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it does not exist.

I did wonder how long it would take for someone to notice that.

Hello Brendan,

Once again, beautiful pictures. I was just about to ask if this was some of your work:

http://youtu.be/l1oAglUxk-4    OK,I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but there is a really cool video on youtube
taken with one of those drone thingys of the W.W.&F. It's on page 8 under the heading of Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway.
The last photo answered that!

Wow, great! Thanks. I thought some of the pictures seemed to have been taken from too great a height fora bucket lift. Anyway, very interesting shots!

I get a "doesn't exist" message. Has anyone solved this problem? Searching for WW&F Railway doesn't seem to produce any drone shots, but I didn't check all 7 pages!

John,

Try spelling out "Wiscasset Waterville and Farmington Railway" and it will be found as the second entry on page 8.

I just looked again and it's still there. When I tried to share the thing by typing in the address, for some reason I also get that "doesn't exist" message.

Fantastic video.  I hope the "drone" will in the air for Victorian Christmas.  Maybe we can get some air time on TV, for all to see.

The quad copter visit was a special thing arranged by Stephen Hussar.  Trying it during Victorian Christmas wouldn't work since there was prep work setting the unit up and then extra time for arranging the scenes.  It does a beautiful job and it was interesting seeing the copter in action.  Some of the video was shot with the director/pilot in the back of the railcar, guiding the copter as the train ran behind us.  I think there will be another try at filming with it sometime next year.
