No. 9 Discovery
« on: April 01, 2013, 09:27:53 AM »
I've never seen Jason so depressed.

When I was last at Sheepscot, he handed me the attached photo that Bruce Wilson recently discovered in the archives. While badly cropped, out of focus, etc. (nothing like a Stephen Hussar photo) it clearly shows No. 9 in service on the WW&F, wearing "white wall" tires.

Jason made me swear that I would not let this photo leak to the forum, otherwise he would be forced to paint the rims white as part of the restoration (in the name of historical accuracy.) I assured him that his secret was safe, and that I would be sure to burn the photo in No. 9's firebox at some future date.

However, Emily saw the photo and remarked that it looked "just like Thomas". She and her friends insisted that the truth be known - not so much for historical accuracy - but that No. 9 "looks cute that way." Being a good dad, I relented, and have posted the afore mentioned photo, below.

Sorry Jason, that's what a having a daughter can do.

Even the rear truck wheels are white walled!
