Topic Cleanup
« on: June 26, 2012, 10:36:51 AM »
Hi all,

Since the Car 65 thread had grown to 17! pages, I decided to thin it out a little bit. I deleted any "great photo" posts, and a few "banter" side tracks to bring it down to a more manageable read. Eventually, the thread will be linked from the official Car 65 web page, which will have a QR code link at the display.

Please take no offense if your posting in the thread was deleted or edited - it now makes for a great read on the history of this car's construction and ongoing maintenance/display.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for going through the thread.  Yep, 17 pages was a lot to wade through.  The thread is now a good read on the first new n.g. dairy car built in Maine in 99 years.  Zack did a wonderful job on the project and interest has been high.  The best evidence is that the thread has been viewed over 11,700 times in just 8 months.  It's the 5th highest viewed thread on the forum.  It also has the highest replies at 208.

Thanks for the news that QR codes are in the works, especially for the milk car project.  It will be a big plus for visitors to the car and Sheepscot.

Update, Update ... (que the morse code sounds)

The Official work thread for Car 65 passed 12,000 views tonight (que the applause)

That's one popular milk car!!  The building of the Car 65 is a great accomplishment that all the members and friends of the WW&F Railway Museum should be proud of, because they made it happen.

It was pointed out to me that there is an old thread in the Volunteer Section called "Turner Dairy Reefer Project" with 3,418 views from last year and early this year.  If you combine those numbers with the 12,140 views of the current "Reefer 65 - Official Work Thread"  there are over 15,550 member and visitor views of the news about the milk car project.  Not bad.
