Restroom construction progress on 9/8 and 9/13:

I have a couple of progress photos for the restroom building, hoping I can figure out how to post them.

When I went to Sheepscot Monday the 10, I took the first picture, showing the east side of the restroom building with the 19 roof trusses put up by the volunteers by 9AM on Saturday the 8th.

When I returned to Sheepscot Thursday the 13th, I took the second picture showing the plywood sheathing Zack Wylie and Steve Zuppa applied, covering the east side of the roof, on Wednesday the 12th.

Thanks for posting Steve.  The roof sheathing is now done.  The next things are the pine trim boards and lots of blocking.

Today -

The edge boards and trim boards (frieze and shadow) were installed all the way around the roof.

The sink wall for the women's bathroom is framed in with ports for the plumbing vents drilled.

Hammond lumber delivered all the roofing material; drip edge, ice and water shield, tar paper and shingles.

Some drip edge and felt/tar paper may be installed in the coming week depending on weather and available volunteers.

I'm trying, with help from Mike Fox, to post another picture taken of the restroom Mon. Sept. 10, before the sheathing was applied to the roof.

Now that picture appeared: It was taken from what will be the front porch, I believe. You are looking down what will be the central hall. Ladies room is at left, gents at right.

Thanks Steve,

The central hall is in the front.  The long narrow area straight ahead is the equipment/service room.  There will be a door to close off the service area which will contain the electric panel, water heater and access to the plumbing clean outs.  There will also be shelving for storage of cleaning materials, paper towels, etc.

The doors to each restroom will be off the front hall with (as Steve noted) Ladies at the left and Gents to the right

This week -

- Steve Z. installed the drip edge, ice and water shield, tar paper and shingles on both sides of the roof.  Stewart and Leon helped a bit.

- Zack installed the vent pipe and extended it through the roof so the shingles could be dressed around it.

Next to be done -

- Wind braces need to be installed at the corners then the blocking can be nailed in.

- The sink wall needs to be built in the men's room.

Not much work was done Saturday due to other activities but Zack and Josh R. met to plot the electrical service in the restrooms.

The ridge vent will be installed when the weather clears.  That will complete the roof.  Staging will be removed this week so the wind braces and blocking can be installed.  Steve Z. will probably do some of this during the week.

Stewart,  Thank you for the up date, is the heat in the building going to be electrical or someother type?    Fred L. Kuhns
