Great photos Steve.

I love the interior shot of the TCD car. Back in the day, how did they prevent the milk cans from sliding around inside the car?  Unless there were enough of them to pack tightly together, wouldn't they have been all over the place from the vibration and stop / start / sway movement? Was ice used in the summer months?

I didn't try to take any pictures this weekend (I was way too busy for that), but my general impression of Friday and Saturday was that it was well attended and we got a lot done.  My father-in-law dropped in on Saturday morning and later commented to me that "everybody had a project to work on."

Sorry I couldn't make it up there this time but thanks to Stephen and others I see some of what I missed.  (on account of the RMNE Annual Dinner and a Board meeting).  Looks like the weather was decent and hopefully the bugs weren't too numerous.

Richard,

We don't know of any restraint system for the cans.  There were ice bins in each end of the car with a drain pipe going down through the floor.  We are going to build a bin in one end of the new #65.  Ice was cut from Lovejoy Pond and kept in the Albion ice house so the car(s) could be iced before the morning down train.  To save floor space, the ice bins doubled as coal bins during the winter.

Candid Courtney was at it again with my camera. Here are a few of her interesting shots.

Here we see Bob C. as brakeman, giving the go-ahead, then what looks like the start of a stretch signal in the second, and then he is completing the connection with the chains in the third. Bullet Bob is at the throttle with Josh as fireman.

The after dinner train awaits, much to the delight of our ears. One of the evenings singers, with a great voice I might add.

The train awaits, Josh has it simmering perfectly. No pressure relief popping during supper.

Stephen,   The pictures of the work on the restrooms provided a good idea of its location in relation to the other museum buildings.  Really glad to see constructon under way. Thanks again for all the great pictures.   Fred L. Kuhns

This video needs to go to any and all donors and grantors.  It sums up WHO we really are and what we're all about.
