Portland Company builder's plate?

Hi All:

I'm detailing a model of #9 and was hoping that someone might be able to help with a question about the builder's plate.  Is the one that appears in the pre-deconstruction photos a reproduction and if so, is it based on an actual plate?  Also, I need a good quality photo of the plate.  Would someone be able to assist me with that?

I believe the original plate to Portland Co 621 exists, was copied, the one ground off, a 2 added, and then re-cast to create our 622 plates.  It's fair to say they are perfectly accurate reproductions.  Year was more around 1997 I believe.  I'm sure one of us can dig up a photo for you.

I think Maine Narrow Gauge has a Portland Company builder's plate - it might be the plate for 621 (the loco before #9).  The plate last I knew was on display in their museum.

I think there is a Portland Company builders plate in the collection of the Phillips Historical Society.

I do not recall the number; but people who do such things know how to transpose numbers as necessary.

The Portland Co. builder's plate in Phillips is also C/N 621 (= KCRR No. 2). I'm pretty sure it's another one of the replicas Jason mentions above, though right next to it in the same display case is the real number plate for SR&RL No. 7 (P&R 'Calvin Putnam'), C/N 615.
