Steam at Edaville
« on: December 01, 2011, 11:05:10 PM »
I see from the Edaville facebook page that the Anne Elizabeth is back in steam and converted over to coal.

Congrats to them and another job well done by Brian and Jason.

I have to re-steer the congrats to Brian and the Edaville crew-- they've been putting in some intense hours to make this happen.  My part was small with only a single day to help with the test fire.

21 is a nice running and firing locomotive.

I also was able to make make a short HD video of #21 pulling out of the station and running around the bend by the engine house.

It's posted on Facebook.  Make sure you click the HQ button at the bottom/right of the video for full 720P viewing.

Hi Hank,

I see that the park opens around 2PM on the weekends.   Do they make at least a couple of runs before sunset?   I haven't been to Edaville since I was a kid, and am considering picking a nice day and heading down there to see what it looks like now.

Kevin,
They make at least 2 or 3.  It's a short ride!  :(   It's the best time to go, early, that is.  The crowds don't peak until after 6pm.  :)

Does anyone know how they did financially this Christmas?

Word has it that the owner has changed his mind about turning it all into housing, and is willing to invest 5 more years to try and make the "park" work.

Nice time to think of it after ripping up 2/3 of the track.  If this does turn out to be the last hurrah, at least they went out with steam.
