Hello,  has anyone else been receiving their montly newletter in a mangled/ripped/torn state?  My father and I have received our last couple months flyers with chunks missing, torn to shreds etc. and wonder if it is happening in our local PO or up in Maine.

Mine came that way once, but that was the exception. Generally they come free from defects.

If you ever receive a damaged newsletter, just let us know by emailing info@wwfry.org and a replacement newsletter will be sent to you.

I'm still waiting for mine... Angry I've had problems in the past with ripped or crumpled issues.

Mine arrived here in central Pennsylvania today in fine shape. I've received one or two that were obviously munched by machines, but I was able to replace both damaged newsletters from the stocks at the museums. For some months, my copies of Trains magazine (and other magazines) were coming with their tops wrinkled and with pages stuck together. I complained to the PO, and a few days later learned that our new postman was holding the magazines upside down and against his stomach as he walked and sweated on them! Ewwww!

My newsletter arrived yesterday in perfect shape.  Not bad considering it was delivered during a major blizzard.  The storm is the second one this Winter to bring over 2 feet of snow to Maryland.  The first one was in December.  This area has never had two big snows in one season.   There is 28" on the ground and it will snow thru the afternoon.  My phone line has been pulled out of the house from the weight of the snow.  Getting back to the newsletter, good issue... lots of good info on the latest doings in the shop.

I'm going to Maine next week, gotta get away from all this snow.

Stewart, pretty bad when you come to Maine in February to get away from the snow.

I have never recieved a damaged newsletter, though they don't travel far to get to me. I have recieved Christmas cards that have been opened by machines or perhaps some other means. Once I even got an empty envelope.

Mike,  The snow total down here is 31" possibly the highest snowfall in Maryland since 1883 when the storm records began.  The plow truck got stuck twice in my drive.  It's a Dodge 4X4 with chains and it still got hung up.  Spent over 6 hours shoveling, hooking up winch cables and chains - crazy.  Back in the house now, got the fireplace going and am going to re-read the newsletter ... if I can stay awake.

A. My newsletter arrived yesterday in fine shape. That is not always the case, however.

B. I spent the day at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Partly cloudy and 47* It has been above normal temperature for a week.

Thanks!  Smiley  And thanks to the many contributors - Kevin, Gordon, Ellis, Mike, Jonathan, Stewart, Bill, Jason, Dave, Linda, and yourself. Having so many contributors made it a lot of fun to put together and improved the quality! If anyone thinks that's a hint to "let's do it again", you're right!
