I'm pleased to report that centerline and tie location marking is completed through cycle 4 - thanks KB, BS, and JS.
Our assignment can continue after Mike finishes on Saturday.

Jason and I agreed on an alignment Wednesday that leaves the rock/ledge intact.  :)

I had T-Mobile years ago and it wasn’t too good as I recall
I’ve had Verizon for several years now and I can usually find a spot to carry on a conversation nearly any place on the railroad (including the current end of track.
Amazingly enough, I’ve experienced FaceTime conversations at several locations along the railroad as well. Don’t know how that works, but it does. :)

Thanks for the link Steve. I experienced the same slow download - I think you’re right about their server. I enjoyed the historical write up.

How much time is devoted to preparation (layout, machine setup, etc.) vs. actual flanging?
Also, can you describe the die(s) that are used to form those beautiful corner bends?

There were two shafts dug on the west side of Portsmouth on Aquidneck Island (RI).
Some of the coal was shipped on the Old Colony line but much of it was used locally.
The coal was of terrible quality - you didn't get much heat from it.

You are correct John - blue is "Steam Into Cylinders" and "Steam Out Of Cylinders"

The cores are: red - exhaust, green - live steam, light blue (and underneath dark blue) - main lightener, tan - frameway, brown - cylinder bore, dark blue steam port, darker green - outer lightener. My model represents only one quadrant of the complete assembly - the left and right cylinders are identical and formed from the same molds
