Well people will be entertained - even if they cannot dance.

Will be quite a layout if it fills that space.

Please post pix.

Now that there is a dance floor :) in the shop will you use that to get people out of the wind?

There are some areas that will have to be restricted but it would make a decent overflow waiting space.

I second Roberts suggestion. The backer should be higher than normal anticipated load.
It also makes a good place to secure slightly wobbly loads.

"Ride Amtrak Boston to Wiscasset with connections to Head Tide."  "Stopping at Sheepscot, Alna Station, and Moose Trout Brook Bridge."

To read more about the track laying race read:

"Nothing Like It In The World"

It was a bet between The CP & The UP. There was considerable staging.
The CP waited till the UP had less than 10 miles to the meeting point so they could not
duplicate the feat.
The CP even took an hour for lunch.

Or do it like we did when I was in the Motor Pool -
Oil Absorbent and a 2X4 block , round & round.

I will volunteer to taste test the free lunch.

Mentioned in the news article.

The WW&F is a Museum, so it is supposed to be done as it was "back in the day", otherwise
it would just be a railroad.

Beside if you do it as a volunteer it is "fun", if you did it at a job there would be no end of complaints.

Just have fun doing what you all do best.

The Moose & Squirrel come from Frost Bite Falls MINNESOTA. "Don't you know" you bet.

This is June Foray's Birthday 1917

She just stepped on the rainbow in July.

Whimsical Weirdness and Foolery / Re: WW&F Visits....

Just met another WW&F Member - Brent - at train show at MN State Fair Grounds.
I was wearing my WW&F hat so he had to ask.

"A good time was had by all."

When you come for the other RR stuff, we have a better Cat House than
pictured. It is made for MN minus 40* winters. I have seen 19 cats come out.
With only one cat a light bulb would be all that is needed. A fastidious cat would be
neither greasy or coal covered. The cat has to have the right personality.

1 of ours would be too friendly - approaching  everyone and riding our shoulders when inconvenient.
2 do not like anyone other than my wife & I.
1 would always be under foot.
And one just does not care - you would only see her at supper.

With a litter box cats can stay in in winter - and with a self feeder can be on their own several days at a time.

You just have to get the personality mix right.

I was concerned with galvanic action but I could not spell it.
Well I can spell IT (eye tee) but galvanic gives me problems. :)

Under the concrete is not a problem, it is at the interface that I have seen
problems. It may have been other factors but rather safe than sorry.

I will not add - keep the concrete out of the sun.  ;D

284
Galvanized needs coating more so.

If the conduit is un-coated you may want to do so.
Paint, or foam pipe insulation, piece of plastic bag.
Don't want have to replace it down the road because of the concrete corrosion.
