Work and Events / Re: 2016 Fall Work Weekend
« on: August 31, 2016, 03:06:31 PM »
I just made a reservation for the next to last available room at the Wiscasset Motor Lodge. The room has 2 double beds and I can only sleep in one at a time so if there is anyone else who needs a place to stay and doesn't mind sharing a room please let me know.

What are the dates for the Spring Work Weekend? I know this is early but need to make some long range plans. Thanks.

Museum Discussion / Magazine Article About #9
« on: November 22, 2014, 10:00:35 AM »
In yesterday's mail I received the Nov/Dec issue of 'Narrow Gauge & Short Line Gazette'. In this issue one of the regular contributors, Mallory Hope Ferrell, begins a new series of articles about "A Well-traveled Forney" and as I read the article I realized this Forney is non other than our #9.  Just wondering if anyone at the Museum knew he was doing these articles?

A post this morning from the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway F/B page.

I was about to ask what jobs, challenges or opportunities are on the list for the Fall Work Weekend - but I guess these pictures pretty well answer that question.

Museum Discussion / Model Railroad Drawings on eBay

Just noticed an auction on eBay for a lot of 125 model railroad drawings.  Most deal with Maine 2-foot gauge railroads.  The auction number is 191246495747.

I hope to attend the Amherst show this year - of course, that depends on the weather cooperating.  We will be staying about an hour north of Springfield and I hope to be available Saturday and Sunday and possibly on Friday as well.  Do you have a sign up list for helping out at the regular booth and at the dairy car location?

Oh, here we go again.

What an awesome ride!  Anymore?

You folks have me beet.

Museum Discussion / Re: Parking Lot Puzzle

A couple of thoughts:
The first time we were at the Museum we were traveling with some folks pulling a camper trailer behind their SUV - this parking lot provides sufficient space but should provide wide and reasonably convenient in and out access from Cross Rd as well as parking space.

Handicapped parking in the new lot is fine but I would suggest a couple of designated handicapped parking places closer to Sheepscot Station.

The parking lot looks much improved - great work folks!

Yes, we had a good and productive weekend.  The weather cooperated, again (certainly was better than what I left behind at home).

A belated thank you to Linda and the other ladies who kept us fed and also to the local folks who get things ready before we arrive and clean up after us when we leave.
