Mike, do all the stumps on the shoulders of the roadbed get pulled, or will they be left to rot on their own?  I assume there is plenty of clearance to the dynamic envelope of the train from all remaining trees along the right-of-way?

Thanks for posting the map and summarizing the cutting locations.

Maybe I'm lazy or just can't follow all of the tree clearing progress easily, but would it be possible to show on the Mountain Extension map the extent of the tree clearing so far?

Thanks in advance,

Does the bridge still need to be narrowed?  If so, what will be the process to do so?

Harold, thanks for the clarification.

Harold, the "cups" in the ends of the carbody in which the ends of the truss rods and tensioning nut go - are those castings?

I'm sure Josh Recave will be able to determine the minimum size required for the electrical distribution building, based on the National Electrical Code's minimum access requirements in front of the equipment.  If the panels or other gear have rear access then the Code has clearance requirements as well; you're talking at least 3 feet in front of the equipment at a minimum.  And... nothing can be stored in the access space in front of the equipment.

Just my two cents.

Would there be any copies of station registers showing freight shipped or received in Two Feet to Tidewater?

Glad to hear your friend was able to access Coach 8 for a ride.  Maybe you need to have him come back and see how much of the campus he can explore.  And there are several levels of that exploration; how many places he can access, and compare that to how many areas he can access comfortably and easily.  Wendy uses both manual and electric wheelchairs, and while she can get around, a lot of bumps cause her back pain due to the jolting.  And pain can be a major deterrent for keeping wheelchair-bound folks away or from enjoying the total experience we are trying to offer.

Off my soapbox now.

Do we happen to have a copy of the order that was placed with Jackson & Sharp for Coaches 2 & 3?  Possibly the colors for everything would be on either the order itself or on the order confirmation from J&S?

Just a thought.

Many of the pressed glass patterns can be sourced through stained glass supply houses; older commercial glass houses also have a lot of specialty glass options available due to old home restorations and other architectural demands.  Baltimore Streetcar Museum has used Chaudron Glass for years; I remember looking through books of glass samples when researching "ripple" glass for one of the streetcar restorations.

Harold, it appears your patterns for the dies were a large part of the reason the formed sheet looks so good!  Congratulations.

Bill, the following are some photos of the baggage section of the SR&RL combine in Portland.  These are the slats to keep parcels and boxes from jamming against the door.  Also included is what the door from the passenger to the freight section of the combine looks like:

See you in a couple of weeks.
