Title: Stars of Sandstone 2017
Post by: Wayne Laepple on September 04, 2018, 07:40:08 PM
Check this out. Sandstone Estates in South Africa is over 17,000 acres with a large two-foot gauge railway, antique autos and farm machines, military vehicles, aircraft and even oxen. Just astounding that all this is in one place.

So, does this mean that Fred, myself, Link and a few others will be starting the WW&F Air Force?

I think Alan not only needs to finish building his plane but also has to learn how to fly.

But that would give us a 4 plane formation like the one at Sandstone.

I wonder if the folks who own the land around Alna Center would give us rights to use the fields as a landing strip.

It looks like the "Stars of Sandstone" event takes place every other year, with the next one scheduled for April 2019:

I would really love to get down there someday, but I don't think it's going to happen by April, sadly.

Although it's a private collection, they say visitors are welcome at other times by prior arrangement:
