Title: I'm not sure whether to be proud or ashamed...
Post by: Alan Downey on January 25, 2016, 01:36:01 AM
A friend of mine from school surprised me with this shirt yesterday. I never used to make very many puns, but being around you guys has clearly rubbed off on me. Apparently puns are an unavoidable part (curse) of hanging around me now. I'm not sure if that makes the WW&F a bad influence or not, but I think I'm proud of this one! My apologies to the innocent bystanders...

The National Pun Contest had no winner.
There were ten finalists but no winner, in fact no pun in ten did.

Alan, have you met John Stone yet? He is an avid punster, intended and otherwise.

I have a friend who is a vet and likes to annoy me with stupid bird puns.  I soon realized that toucan play at that game.

Fred told me that he wants to cross a carrier pigeon with a woodpecker.  The bird not only carries messages but will knock on the door when it arrives.

If hanging around the WW&F "Punsters" is a bad influence, then we wear that badge with honor............

Bird puns are usually very fowl.

Very true, Ira. If a group of crows are involved, would that pun be considered a murder, most fowl?

I don't know, they would just have to wing it.

This conversation is getting flighty.

Alright you bird brains.

If this discussion continues to carrion, I may have to pigeonhole it into Whimsical Weirdness and Foolery.

...wait...

Uh, since it's already there I may just cage it.

Your moderator,

Larry
(Who may just have to Celtics to a pun-off competition.)

Pigeonholed indeed!  We're mostly cliff-dwelling raptors, not those low level and flighty ones.

This is a tough flock of competitors! I may be at a disadvantage as the recent cold weather has resulted in me developing cracks in my joke drive. Doctors say I may need a pun liner.

If youz guyz keep this up Ed will send us to the punitentiary.

BTW, the discussion about birds reminded me that I saw a bird bath in an antique shop last week.  The tag read: "FOR SALE - Cheep"
