Let there be grass...

We removed the pile of gravel a couple of weeks ago Brendan had pushed up, leveled the ground off and added some donated material to the top. Trying to make visual improvements to the campus without breaking the budget. Lots more to do, but we will peck away at it.

Work done on Saturday June 24:

* Material delivery: the rail and ties were delivered to the end of track.  Due to time constraints ties and rail were just dropped onto the side, but at least it's all up there.
* Boxcar 67: The wheels are finally under it!  In order to do so a number of items had to be cleared from Shop Bay 2 lead track.  Once wheeled, the car was turned on the turntable so that Zack could work on the other side, as he could not get the scafolding on the east side of the bay.  He finished the board work, and Stewart started painting.
* Yard work: Mike leveled off an area by the house that prior was a mess (see above picture).
* Shop clean up: With trucks out and other equipment outside for the swap, the opportunity was taken to vacuum and clean up.
* Gift shop: The new Two Foot Musing book arrived today - the sequel to Ellis Walker's WW&F Musings book, comprising all of his newsletter articles that were titled "Two Foot Musings".

Ed L. made the observation that today was a rare day when bays 2, 3 and 4 of the shop building were more or less empty as boxcar #67 was out for its ride on the turntable.

Hansel, I especially appreciated your video because when Eva and I rode the 1:30 train last Sunday, there was so much noise in Coach 8 I couldn't hear No.9's exhaust at all. Thanks!
