Enthusiast of Maine 2ft gauge railways and founder of the Brecon Mountain Railway in Wales, Tony Hills, passed away in August at the age of 78.  In recent years he had been concentrating his time on the construction of two new 'Maine Two Footers', copies on Sandy River numbers 10 and 23 as well as the restoration of Baldwin 15511 of 1897 including its conversion from 2-6-0 to 2-6-2. He rebuilt Baldwin 4-6-2 No 61269 which has run on the Brecon Mountain Railway since 1997. A true enthusiast of the Maine 2 foot gauge railways and responsible for creating a small slice of Maine in the Welsh mountains, he will be missed by the professional railway heritage community and enthusiasts alike. Pictures of the construction of these locomotives are posted on the Brecon Mountain Railway website.
